Space Symposium:  “Belgium and Luxembourg, a collaborative journey addressing future space challenges”

The space sector is undergoing a major transformation, with the evolution of technologies, the space industry 4.0, the emergence of new players and the advent of the "New Space".

Space activity in the broad sense will therefore grow very strongly in the coming years. A recent report by Morgan Stanley estimates that the space industry's turnover should rise from USD 350 billion today to USD 1,100 billion in 2040.

In that respect, both Luxembourg and Belgium have developed proactive strategies in order to support the economic development of the space sector, respond to new trends in the sector and create the necessary conditions to seize growth opportunities.

In addition, a joint declaration was signed on the 23rd of January 2019 between Belgium and Luxembourg sealing the desire of both countries to work together with European partners to develop an international framework for space mining exploration.
